Address Verification System (AVS)
AVS reduces the risk of fraud and chargebacks at petroleum merchants by asking customers to enter their credit card billing zip codes at the pump. If a customer doesn't know a zip code or enters it wrong, he or she is referred inside to sign for the transaction.

Petroleum Residuals
